New York, NY -- Peter Poon Architects, a design practice known for creating signature Manhattan hotels and interiors, is announcing the completion last month of the new INNSide New York Nomad hotel. Located on West 27th street, adjacent to the up and coming NoMad district, and just east the street from the Fashion Institute of Technology the project is in convenient proximity to Chelsea, the Garment District, Greenwich Village and Union Square. The property also includes the triple-height Impero Caffe an Italian restaurant managed by celebrity chef, Scott Conant. “We are thrilled with the final result of this hotel,” remarked PPA Principal in Charge, George Kewin. “The contemporary The 313 room hotel is located on 132 West 27th Streets between 6th and 7th Avenue in the Nomad district close to Times Square and Madison Garden.
About the Design
The new 21-story flagship hotel is clad in a full window wall and entered by passing under a stunning 120-foot long glass canopy opening from the sidewalk through the spacious lobby and bar floor to a rear garden. PPA’s design for the lobby, bar, garden terrace and full service double- height restaurant fulfills the expectation of the neighborhood.
The hotel’s modern image is created by a classic glass façade that stretches the full 120-foot width of the building. The hotel, set back in contrast to the gritty buildings lining the street of this tough neighborhood and also providing a full width garden arcade, is a welcome and fresh addition.
INNSide is a European brand emphasizing contemporary architecture for the sophisticated business traveler. PPA was commissioned in 2013 to design both the building and the interiors for the first of its kind in the United States. The hotel is a 21-story modern building located half a block from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NoMad District.
